India Runway Week Day: 2 begin with homage to handloom

Indian Fashion Industry has seen a movement towards make in India, and “homegrown” when it comes to textiles. The textiles of India have gotten all the big designers and young brigade of designers on presenting some of their best collection in textiles of India. After PM Narendra Modi’s constant effort of “Make in India”, Indian Textiles has been promoted vastly. Not to forget the emerging designers have come up with contemporary styles, western cuts in Indian textiles. Organic cotton, tie die and khadi has seen major innovation.

Not moving from its commitment to promote textile designers, Indian Federation for Fashion Development( IFFD) has dedicated DAY 2 to Indian Textiles. The Day 2 of the event was  opened by Newgen Designers like MuskaanAgarwal, Tresha Parikh, Sejal Jain, Neha and Shivangi, Thhreads by Purnima Gulati.

Designer MuskaanAgarwal makes her debut in India Runway weekS/S 2017, the collection she presented wasDWAAR.The intricate carvings from the doors of theAwadhi architecture coming alive on silk in theform of detailed embroidery crafted by skilledartisans on the most celebrated garmentsworn by the contemporary Indian womeneminent usage of zardozi work along withgotapatti and pita work is done on thegarments to make them stand out.Her collection received appreciation as itpaid tribute to Indian heritage.  Pinessaa by Neha and Shivangi presented its collection “SKINN”, a genre of women clothing that is artistically crafted, rooted in Indian sensibilities but affluent in its western outlook, one that combines grace with easy functionality and presents a universal appeal by fusion appareling. PINESSAA feels privileged in presenting styles that differentiate you from the crowd and giving a whole new dimension of dressing. PurnimaGulati a zesty designer carries a subtle sense of dressing to devote to the society by expressing her affection for handloom via her label “Thhreads”.Handloom, it is a reflection of our inheritance, our dedication, our charm and the heart of our weavers in each and every inch of the fabric.

“PARINEE’S DESIGNING STUDIO”, presented their soul collection  “belleza” . “Belleza” means beauty. Beauty is being the best possible version of you in and out.  Shades of pastels, elegance of flowy fabrics, hand embroidery by expertise.

 Actress Poonam Dhillon walked the ramp for start-up designer Neha Choudhary at India Runway Week 2017 Spring summer. Poonam Dhillon looked evergreen and flawless while bringing the “Monochromatic Feminism” to a new level proving herself once again to be the undisputed queen of the era.The collection mainly draws inspiration from the idea of a woman being capable enough in this time to be strong and self-confident so much as to be labeled as a legend.

CRMSON by Nancy Sood collection emphasis on the women who glows in every shade ,diligent and conscientious towards a minutest responsibility,dedicated and devoted in all spheres, navigating her way through time for her to believe that she deserves to maintain her peace without any slightest hesitation. Glamour takes the mercury a few notches higher when Actress Gauhar Khan walked for the duo Vinita & Chetan. Debuting with their interpretation of ‘Up sideDown’. The evening marked the Indian fashion industry with glitz and grandeur with models strutting down the runway donning the cutting edge collection.

Preranaa designer from Kolkata presented ‘Kali, the essence of power’. Kali being the main theme of her collection portrays and reflects the presence of the Goddesses’ omnipotent elements in today’s women. Today’s women are strong and confident in their cores and are also making rapid strides towards personal and professional success andemancipation.

Tisharth by Shivani Jain brings GOLDEN SUMMER DREAM which is the colour of the sun and Golden are the dreams we weave, golden is the color of goddess and is considered as pious and sacred. Big Boss contestant Nitibha Kaul walked the ramp for the Delhi based designer. Through our designs we believe that all women can turn their golden dreams into reality, as there is goddess in each one of them. Soft fluid drapes with ruffled flare and flattering silhouettes with constructed body is the look of each piece.  The colour palette is ethereal whites, flame, Pink yarrow, Niagra blue teamed up with gold will make it look divine. The collection will reflect soul of a woman draped beautifully almost surreal.

Designer Mithi Kalra Launches her all new ‘Moonlight Collection’. Her collection is a spectacular sight to behold with her playing with the captivating designs in all white ethereal look. Moonlight basically transpires from the cosmos, which is a like a distant, beautiful space for her as the charm of moon stands almost unparalleled from ages. Through this collection, Kalra has made an effort to not only bring about the wondrous peaceful serenity and tranquillity of the universe but has also consciously tried her best to revive the monochrome trend in a novel avatar, like never before as she clearly believes in giving the style its due.

Inspired by the bright morning blooms from the world over, Ruchika Hurria’s Ruh woman’s Indo-Western attire is designed to dazzle. To add a ray of clear, true light and a breath of fresh morning air to even the most august of gatherings. Clean, minimal, sexy silhouettes set off on an intense, vibrant colour palette which is as rare and unique as every single sun kissed flower petal. Flowy, free and bold dresses designed around the strength of character and beauty of every single woman. A range of pastels inspired by the sun, the finest silks, and minimal clean lines embellished by seemingly the brilliance of nature itself.

GLORY OF THE MOBILE SHRINE by Shravan Kummar brings a sheer love for the traditional textiles and passion for working with craft clusters helped me to witness a rare, dying and endangered craft of making a “pachedi” which is a canopy for the mother goddess is totally sustainable, eco-friendly and hand painted with vegetable dyes which is offered to the goddess to fulfill its purpose. The upcoming collection showcases a range of hand painted sarees and modern silhouettes which will make a modern woman look modern,graceful,elegant and urban yet rooted to her traditional ethos.A sustainable initiative and a tribute to the rich textile heritage of India, I Shravan Ramaswamy feel privileged to showcase these rich collection in depicting the glory of the mobile shrine (Mata-ni-Pachedi) with a con temporized  exploration of the craft and brought down to its minimal essence without diluting the originality of this rich art form.
